The November 2008 E-conference on the Economic Dimension of Biodiversity brought together scientists and policy makers representing the EU countries. Objectives were to exchange information on national biodiversity activities, to disseminate current best practices, and information regarding the scientific understanding of biodiversity conservation. The e-conference preceeded the European Platform for Biodiversity Research Strategy (EPBRS) meeting, held under the French EU presidency in Paris, France, from the 17th to the 21st of November 2008.
The conference explored three issues: Biodiversity and Industry: Impact evaluation and compensation mechanisms; Biodiversity and Industry: What ecological engineering is needed? Biodiversity and Industry: How to integrate biodiversity in company strategies; experiences and best practices?
