The traditional community of Resex do Riozinho do Anfrísio,  in Brazil, has developed a ‘Biocultural Community Protocol.’ The purpose of this Protocol is to present its values in relation to biodiversity and advance business relationships that respect these values and ensure ethical trade.

Imaflora, UEBT affiliate member since 2012, supported the development of the protocol as part of their mission to ‘encourage and promote changes in forestry and agriculture, to promote the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources and the generation of social benefits’. UEBT provided technical input, in the context of its work on biocultural dialogues for Ethical BioTrade.
